The SE5000 Smart 2 is the second generation of the smart tachograph by Stoneridge, designed to meet the standards of the Mobility Package I of the European Union. The Mobility Package is a set of European laws and regulations for the transport sector and includes new rules aimed at improving drivers’ social conditions, enhancing road safety, and providing equal access to European markets. In line with Annex Smart 2 (EU 2016/799), which is regulated by Regulation 2021/1228, the European Union requires technically improved tachographs for better monitoring and enforcement of standards. This has led to the development of the SE5000 Smart 2 tachograph by Stoneridge Electronics.
