When operating a vehicle, the driver is required to carry mandatory documentation covering the working hours for the current day and the previous 28 days (from December 31, 2024, for the previous 56 days)
The required documentation includes:
Tachograph charts
Driver’s card
Records of inspections conducted
Evidence of initiated legal proceedings or paid fines
Printouts from the tachograph (in exceptional situations)
Properly Record Your Activities (Driving, Break, Standby, Rest). Enter additional activities (rest) when the driver’s card is not in the tachograph (mandatory as Activity Confirmations are no longer valid or issued!).
Switch countries when crossing borders (Smart 2 tachographs automatically record border crossings, but only on driver cards issued after August 20, 2023).
Record loading/unloading function – only possible on Smart 2 tachographs (not yet a legal requirement).
The driver must have a sufficient number of rolls for the digital tachograph.
Useful information and instructions related to working hours and tachographs, all in one place. Everything you need to know, find out in the Mini School of Tachographs.
